hey all i just called up and order a set of motor mounts to put a 351m/400 in our 54 ford project. i was told they are direct bolt in was curious if anyone has a picture of them of if anyone has used them? i got them from gearheads cruiser products http://www.ndgearheadscruiserproducts.com/id26.htm

said they will take about 2 weeks to get here but i dont wana stall on the project that long, i would like to get the body off the frame this week but dont wana do that untill im 100% sure these new mounts wont make the bellhouseing hit anything and just to make sure all my clearances are ok. Basicaly im just asking someone to hold me hand and tell me everythings going to be ok haha. any help is appreciated, Thanks

I put a 351m in my merc. An I wish I never had. Its hard to find parts for them. I wish i had done alot more research on them before I bought mine. I am going to pull mine out an go with a 302 like I am putting in my 53 ford.

The 400's weren't so bad but the 351m were terrible motors. No power gas ****ing pigs.

the 400s at least have the higher compression, and from what i understand a 400 with 4v heads can make some power, eaither way im not building a racecar just a nice driver, having the motor 100% rebuilt so i find it hard to belive its not going to drive better than stock y block
