Although a I’ve never been, but how do you pass up a place called Pie Town (southwest of Albuquerque) east of Quemado. Just sayin’…

In looking at Op's car I don't see front brakes?

Don’t take the 60 south of Show Low, lots of road construction south of Globe. 260 to Payson is the best route.

That’s because their aren’t any front brakes.

He doesn’t like putting front brakes on light cars. He doesn’t have front brakes on any of them.

That can go from hero to zero pretty quick, to each his own I guess. I have a used pair of Early 50's F2 rear brakes [12" by maybe 2"?] if he needs them.;)

Thanks for the heads up! I'll make sure to adjust the route.

Good lord, that has nothing to do with why we are here.

Haven’t seen many cooling systems being taxed the last two days. I’d image it would be a Challange if caught in Phoenix traffic.

Just an FYI, there’s an event up in Payson on the afternoon and evening of 19 October. Local car club is putting it on. Here’s the info on it.

It’s been well over a hundred quite a few of the days that joeys driven this car from one side of the country to the other. I don’t anticipate seeing the heat being an issue for him.

Instead of going to Gilbert. Take the back way to Phoenix and stay in the mountains through Camp Verde/Cottonwood, Prescott and through Yarnell.

Oh no, didn’t know he was on the road. Did he get the rocker arms? If he needs any parts while he’s here in the valley let me know.

I think they are still nosing around tucumcari before heading east to the Amarillo area.

I think that cam just has to much lift for his valve train and it’s busting stock rockers before it breaks anything else. That’s my guess anyhow

If it's going to break something, that's not a bad choice. Easy to get to and replace, and doesn't grind into a paste that goes through the motor near as much as other parts.

  24. Hoping Joey will fill in the gaps here. :D I talked to him in Bartlesville so know he made it. I assume he is home now.

I made it home boys. 2800 miles and a pile of broken parts. Thanks for the tips.

I made it through the desert without any problems. Hopefully in the next day or two I have time to update my main thread with the full story.
