I sometimes get ahead of my self not know there could be a difference.
Saying that I have a edel 3 carb intake that the gen mount ,inside to inside is 2 1/4 '', the gen mount is 3'' os to os. I could machine the gen mount down, but what is the correct was to handle this?
    Thanks,

Not really in the know on those, but I had a v8flathead just a few years back, that already had a aftermarket bracket on it,to hold a ALT*,yet they had mounted it backword=the fanbelt didn't line up right/about 1/2in. plus out of line with the rest of the pulleys << an it had been running that way.

It's not the belt alignment, the 3'' fan mount won't fit into the 2 1/4 '' intake slot.

This is a fan mount, my bad. Part number on the back side is 21a 863

There is a correct fan mount to match the intake. Problem is I don't which one.

It's my problem, fan mount. Not gen mount. Speedway has the solution.
