Not really appropriate for this thread, but the other half of the story on Mark Niver's car is Dave Hill's... Got a special place in my heart though, 'cause it's from the neighborhood. Remember it was built in '73 or so, yet it had almost all the cool stuff from '63 present.

Very kool T Chip. Both of those guys knew what looked right on a T.

I wonder if it makes any difference when a car was built as long as it is built with the same parts and style as were used in the day. Whatever style you are after. I built my roadster in the '80s and I like to think that anyway. Now I'm not talking about somebody buying a Speedway kit and putting WWW tires on it. Although there is nothing wrong with that if that is what you want.

Absolutely Steel rebel, that's exactly what I was talking about! It doesn't matter when the car was built, it will always reflect the period of the sum total of it's parts. Dave's car in '73 was way outdated as far as trends, but still cool as hell, even more so today!

Changing allot of details around. I have a set of five spoke Americans with pie crust cheater slicks for it, do something with the exhaust, cut down the seat riser so it's more comfortable, clean up and redo some of the wiring and brake lines, different radiator and shell, white interior, and primer the body to match the frame for now.

Louvers it's going to look awesome once it is done. What does the five spokes look like and the pie crust cheater slicks? Is the cheater slicks what I have been kind of talking about?

James that is awesome! I can't wait to see the Vette and that's an interesting name. Did Vince give you any more good stories?

Cant wait to hear and see more!

I think the feature on the car says 94". I can look it up though.

I would say you're right because it does look shorter then 96" but if you have more info on it please share it.

This is 96" and yes you can tell the difference. Don't let anybody tell you an inch or so doesn't make a difference.

I'm starting to be able to tell when something is 96" and shorter. I like the 96" and under not sure if my build will be able to do that but I will see.

Rebel I like your ride man!

Absolutely 1" makes a huge difference on these cars! I just put a tape to mine, when I put it all together last year I never bothered to measure, it checks in at 102". I was surprised, as I thought it would be more like 104-5". I have the room to shorten it up a bit, (the Chevy in it has a long pump that is bugging me) but the other part of my brain is thinking to just leave it alone. Leave it alone is certainly less work, but I'm not the brightest in the world when it comes to not causing myself extra work.

Nah Louie, I think I'm gonna keep this one mobile and deal with the extra length. I know it will never be completely "correct", but it won't be bad. I have too many other things on my plate to be doing right now to really go through this one on the level I should. Gotta get my Roadster Pickup on the road...

Ivo's T had-has a 101" W.B. Grabowski's first black version was also 101". I'm sure that is the version that Tom copied. I kinda like the look of a slightly longer lower T. I'd be surprised if the roadster that this thread is about wasn't over 100"

I would honestly think it to be about 103-4" or so. That seems to be a good length for a turtle deck car. I have always said that in my opinion, the second you choose a turtle over a bed, the rear wheels have to go back a bit, otherwise you end up with an odd long looking bit of turtle sticking way out.

I just took a few minutes and looked at the profile of your T you just posted. You know it has a lot of things right in fact most things. The engine sits nice and level, the headlights are parallel with the radiator. Can't you just cut that shifter in half and use the top portion. Really the radiator height is what I have a problem with. If you decide to use it couldn't you just attach the mounts below the frame. That would drop it maybe three inches. But then you would have a fan problem and maybe have to resort to the dreaded electric fan. Or maybe bolt a fan to the crank like some old Fords.

    Sorry for the ramble.

Ya, without blowing my own horn too much, I'm responsible for the stance and body placement and such on this car. The owner bought a bunch of dissimilar parts from swaps all over Arizona and California, and then brought them to me to put together. The frame is one of those CCR plan deals and it really was intended to have a wheel base of about 107" or so, with the body shoved way back on the frame. I cheated the wheel base forward quite a bit when I set the rear suspension up over what the plans he had called for. I also slid the body forward until the bed was centered on the rear axle, but still ended up with that damn long pump to compensate for a long engine bay. My customer was a bit mad at me when I purposely set the engine and trans location close enough to the firewall that he couldn't use an HEI distributor!

After it was delivered as a roller is when stuff like the radiator, plumbing and wiring happened. Oh, seat riser too. The P/O and his buddy would constantly ask me what to do, then just ignore it and dig thought their CCR plan kit and do that instead. Hence it came up for an inexpensive price because "I don't fit in it".

The radiator is one of my sore points too, and it'll get either a "T" shell, (got lots of those hanging around) or about 2/3rds of a '32 shell if I can find something I can afford. It might also and up with an electric fan if necessary.

In my broke early '80s I saw this 32 grill and shell at the Turlock Ca. swap for sale for $15 I had the nerve to offer $10. We settled on $12.50. LoL

Have thought of putting a pusher fan between the the grill and radiator of my roadster to hide it but it doesn't bother me too much where it is. Might be something you would want to think about doing if you do find a 32 grill for $15. LoL again. Just another thought.

Yeah more info on this. I have seen some tractor and other grills on T and Roadsters. I really liked what I've seen.
