Almost had to fight the TSA guys for that sheet metal he gave us. They were swearing it was a potential weapon and I told them it was a souvenir. Even with the signature on it they did not want to believe me. Finally I got some higher up GI wannabe who was alittle bit of a car guy and he let it go.

Anyway it was a blast. Gene is so full of stories and energy. I learned more from watching him then I ever dreamed of. I am glad we got to do the lead work though that was the highlight for me.

  16. Had a great time, can't believe Bob had a hard time filling up the class. At 85 (85?!) Gene and other guys like him just ain't gonna be around for too many more of these classes.

Good to meet you guys, and big thanks to Bob Barber and his family for putting up with us. Huge thanks to Mr. Winfield for passing along a little of his vast knowledge.

The border guys weren't too concerned with my metal wall art, but I bought a 60 gal compressor on the way home. They thought that might have contained contraband or something, so they pulled me over and completely emptied my car, right down to the spare tire and my dirty undies. Sheesh.
