i asked him at the last workshop if he was going to do a paint class and he said he had one in the works but it was going to be more exclusive.

i think the workshop is $175 per day but im going to have to check on that. you can choose to only go one day but i will probably go for both again. it is well worth the money though.

Gene's a hell of a nice guy. I spoke with him for quite a while at the Lead Sled Spectacular in Salina last summer. I coulda talked to him all day.

Definately one of the 'legends'. Wish I could attend one of his classes.

Here'sa few photos I took at the Winfield Workshop held in Midland, TX last summer. Participants chopped a 50 2 door merc and made it into a hardtop.Folks who attend are encouraged to join in and get their hands dirty. The last photo is the car on it's way home to south TX. If you can GO>GO>GO to the workshop.

And a few more of last summer's Winfield Midland,TX workshop. A fellow from south TX brought his own Merc and that was the project car. The first thing we did on Friday was remove the flatty.

I've Been Trying To Go For A Couple Of Years Now. The Ol' Wife Is All For It But The Bank Account Doesn't Like It To Much. If I Could Hitch A Ride Or Something I Might...

Is He Doing One In Texas Again Anytime Soon???

Here ya go. Project car heading home on the trailer from Midland, TX Gene Winfield Workshop. The last few photos where you can buy shirts, posters and get autographs. Bring CIF only (Cash In Fist). No checks. No credit cards. You can also get you photo with Gene. The owner of the Merc is standing next to Gene and I couldn't resist either. Also a big THANK YOU to Lynn and Jack McLean and all their crew for hosting this show at their fabulous home and workshop. Texas Folks are Fine in my book.
