Appears as though I went about this b***ackwards. Put my tech question in the intro section. Oops. No better way to break the ice, I guess. Make a mess, clean it up. Hi all, I'm Bryan form Montana. Lived here since 1969. Been into grease monkey stuff for most of my life. As a kid, I cut off forks from wrecked bicycles so I could "chop" my Schwinn Stingray. Looked cool, handled like S__T! A few mini motorbikes, couple Briggs powered go-carts, and tore apart a 4bl Rochester just to see how it worked in my bedroom at 12. It came off my dads 1969 Olds Cutl***, he smelled the fuel at the top of the stairs, man, he was not happy. Had to pay a guy to put it back together. Wrecked the same car a few months later when dad left the keys so i could "wash" it to earn my allowance. Joyride ended when I was showing off for 2 girls I knew, hooked the front bumper on a street sign. This led to me getting my fisrt car, a $50 AMC Hornet that didn't run, dad said if I wanted to learn about cars it wouldn't be on any of his. Much to my fathers dislike, I had it running and drivable by 13, wouldn't get to drive it for couple more years. At 15 I got a 1965 Galaxie with a 232 and 2 speed Cruisomatic. What a barge. Put a 390/c6 with straight duals in it soon after. Promptly lost my license for 6 months. Cops dont like numerous BIG burnouts and loud pipes. Go figure... At 16, I fell in love with a 1970 Roadrunner my friend's brother had. Bought it, rebuilt the 383 in auto shop cl***. Became a true MOPAR guy because of that car. Lost my license AGAIN a month after the 'Runner was driveable again. Had to sell both cars, dad wasnt liking the way his insurance premiums were headed. At 17, I dropped out of school 2 weeks into my senior year, moved out of the folks house, bought a beater 64 Ford pickup to get around during the winter and haul my 500 BSA motorcycle when it broke down in the summer. Pretty much thought I knew it all. Got into a little more trouble with the man. Went back and finished high school, graduated at 19. Street and drag raced a 1966 Dodge Coronet with a 440 out of an old Cop car for a few years (high 13 car all day long on skinny tires), got married at 20, was driving a really cool little 67 dart 2 door sedan with a slant 6. Had 3 kids before I was 25, worked my a__ off to suport my family at numerous **** jobs (maybe I wasn't that smart after all). Got divorced after 15 not so happy years. Now My kids are grown, 1 with grandkids, 1 in college, 1 doing who knows what out in Seatlle. Got remarried 2 years ago, moved to a small town 12 miles east of Billings. Bought a house, bought another house, turned first one into a rental. Somwhere along the way I learned how to weld, got certified, now I build big beams, columns, stairs, handrail, etc for the steel construction industry. Over the last 30 years I have owned and/or built a 51 Studebaker pickup with a 354 hemi, a couple 50's Ford pickups, a 1935 ford pickup, a 455 72 Buick Skylark Suncoupe, a 77 Pontiac 455 LeMans, and a 74 455 Buick Century. My true p***ion has been a long, long string of misc MOPAR cars and trucks, Chargers, Coronets, Darts, Dusters, Valiants, and gobs of 70's pickups. I have probably owned a couple hundred, some projects, some drivers, some for parts. My current projects/toys include a 1976 Dodge 2wd Warlock with a non original 440/auto. A 1976 Dodge Clubcab 4x4 about to become a ***mins converet. A 1985 Dodge Ramcharger 2wd panel, tubbed, caged, ladder bars, fuel cell, fiberlgl*** nose, 440/4 speed (money pit), a pitifully neglected 1959 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door sedan, and most recently, a 1958 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup. I have been bitten a few times by the old 50's stuff and dediced I wanted a cruiser. Really prefer pickups to cars, anymore.
