Can any one tell me what the width of 1939-34 car wheels would be. I am not referring to wheelbase, but the outside measurement of the wheels from side to side, outside of front to outside of front. I realize it might vary from chevy to dodge etc, I am only looking for a ball park figure. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks Bob

I don't have your answer, but that's called track width.

Engineering Data book for the '37 Chevy coupe only gives the dimension between the center of the tires, which is 56 3/8". As I recall, the wheel width is 4" and another 1/4" for the lip of the wheel, so 60 7/8" from outside to outside of the front wheels should be pretty damn close.

I'd go out and measure it exact, but it's too f'ng cold !!

Track is the dimension from the centerline of the tire tread on one tire to the centerline of the tire tread on the opposite tire on the same end of the vehicle, front track or rear track. Also called track width.
