so got a new 12v gen and a 12volt regulator from a 53 buick application to put on my 52 6 volt. a while back i heard some talk about having to polerize the gen and alternator before install. these are brand new itms is this needed? and if so how do i do this? i found some information about it but is there a better way of doing this? "....Cut a piece of wire about 6 inches long. Touch it between the Battery and Amrmature terminals on the regulator, for about 2 seconds (no more). It'll probably spark. Don't worry this is OK.
