I've just about finished rebuilding/restoring my generator/PS pump. Thing is, the metal ID tag is missing. In fact, there aren't even any holes to mount it?

I got it at a swap meet from someone who told me it was out of a '57 Chevy. (But that doesn't necessarily mean anything, swap meet sellers are often incorrect) Its got an aluminum front frame and a cast iron rear one. I don't know the amperage as I don't really have a good way to test it.

So, do any of you experts out there know a good way to determine what part number I should engrave on the metal tag for this?

    Generator Number
1102664 identifies what it came from

Date code next to identification number

    2 M 28

    2 - 1962

    M - December

    28 – 28th day

Black and red tags identify the YOM, can't remember specific dates, 6v (Black) or 12v Red). Blanks are available aftermarket as are the OEM pin drive rivets. Can't find an old bookmark with all the numbers

The Brillman company has the delco tags.

  5. the pulley size can usually determine the output and application. (1/8" makes a difference)
