I have a 1964 ford wagon,I want to change from genarator over to alternator. any help? Is there a kit? Thanks
No kit that I know of and no real need for a kit. The easy way would be to go to the wrecking yard and find an alternator and all the brackets on a later model Ford with the same engine that you have and probably take some of the wiring for the alternator and regulator too. That is what guys would have done in the late sixties or early 70s when they decided to change one of those over to an alternator. You will have to figure out the wiring but that isn't all that hard if you get your hands on a diagram. another way to do it would be to buy a Delco internal regulator alternator and adapt it to the engine.
You can use a delco one wire and just connect it to the bat wire from the reg mount and loose everything else.
