generator vs altnernator

So many opinions, some even make sense. I well remeber the days when the flathead was the dominant engine with a 39 box (or at least a 3 speed). Likely before many of you pups were on the planet. So, if one is building a religiously traditional hot rod (or custom) then go all the way. No radial tires, no paint other than pure old enamel or lacquer...sprayed with a traditional gun. Then there is the sound system to consider. AM only. Okay, maybe an 8 track too. No disk brakes. No seat belts. How far do you want to go? Loosen up. Build whatever you want. Make it safe and reliable. Don't get all hung up on this ****.
