Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mike Zenor, Mar 4, 2004.

  1. I got the high sign from Ryan, and the gig is ON...

    Contributor rules:

    1. Get yourself a piece of standard thickness clear plexiglas (.093", or 2-3 mm) with the following dimensions...

    rectangular with 6", 9" or 12" sides (6"x6", 6"x12," 9"x6", etc.)

    2. Lay on your best pinstripe (or illustration if you like), and sign it.

    3. When completed, post a pic to this thread to show the raffleer what's up for grabs.

    Raffle rules:

    1. Tickets are $10 a pop. Send your dead presidents directly to Ryan, attn: Wall of Pinstripes. I'll let Ryan supply the address.

    2. Ryan will select the winning ticket at random, and the winner's name will be posted on this thread.

    3. Winner takes all! Contributors will individually mail their plexiglas panels to the lucky bastard, who gets to assemble and frame the coolest pinstripe mosaic on the planet.

What are you waiting for? Get out the One Shot and your wallets!

Man can you imagine what this will be worth when all you pinheads are dead? [IMG] It would be like the ceiling of the Cistine(SP?) chapel for hotrodders! Very cool idea.

George:Get a plexi scoring knife from a hardware store, mark the plexi and score it heavily. Then lay it on a flat surface with the score even with the edge and slam it with the heel of your hand in the center of the piece and as close to the score as possible. It should break cleanly.
An alternative is to have a hardware store cut a piece to size for you. Most hardware stores in my area that stock plexi will do this free of charge if you buy the stock from them.

Another way to cut is make your mark lay it on a flat piece of plywood and cut it with a jigsaw or run both simultanious through a band saw. The plywood will help to keep it from cracking and you want to be easy on pushing the jig or plaxi/wood as not to melt the plastic (new blade is good idea).

How many tickets can we buy?

    Heres my contribution.

I'm new at this one-shot slinging....so....this amateur attempt is all I have.
I wish the picture was better, but my digicam is rather lacking.
You'll have to take my word for it that the colors are MUCH more vivid in real life....

    Oh well, here it is.

I know you are gonna blow me out of the water with whatever you post.

You don't have to worry about Von Tingler's Art Factory being much of a threat. ALL the employees (me) have been on a 3 1/2 hour coffee break this morning.....Lazy SOB's..... [IMG]

It say they have to be rectangular with 6",9",or 12" sides. That way they can be arranged so that they all fit a dimension that is a multiple of 6.For instance, two 9X12 panels would equal a total area of 18X12 if fitted side by side.Or if you had two 6X9 panels they would occupy a 6X18 space and so forth. It will work.
