January thaw came late this year. Worked my way out to the shop to disconnect and move the old, hurt air-compressor out of the way to make room for the new bullet. Last week I bought an Ingersoll-Rand 5HP 2 stage to replace the 5HP Single stage Black Max. Now to get the rest of the snow gone and the yard dried or refroze so I can get it to the shop. Oh ya, forgot. That darn ground hog says 6 more weeks of winter. Polly get snow knee deep to a giraffe in a week or so.

went to the Sacramento Autorama, so unlike other weekends, I have a legitimate excuse for not working on my car.

yesterday I put together an 8 inch rear for my TR7. Today I put new collector gaskets on my 69 F-100. I put a different 9 inch under the 51 and learned that I need to shim the starter on it. Overall it was a good weekend

You did good man....fuck the mileage. The key would be enjoyment and satisfaction.

I pinched my frame in a few inches and got started on channeling the cowl. Pretty slow going so far.

Not on the car. But I did make up a nice rack to hold all my spare crankshafts, which have been strung over the beam in my basement for about 5 years.

Sprayed the floor, firewall and some other inside areas of the 32 3W coupe with Lizard Skin ceramic heat treatment. I had bought the entire KIT, and the special spray gun a few months ago. Worked out pretty nice. The Lizard Skin ceramic heat barrier had already been sprayed inside the doors and the DynaMat installed in the coupe doors ... a few weeks ago. Just got around to spraying the rest today ... because it was so nice and warm.

Will spray the Lizard Skin Sound control this week and then cover it all with DynaMat.

Then the wife and I got in my trusty old 32 Roadster and went for a little ride. It was 75 degrees and NICE. It was really nice to have the roadster out, cruising around and enjoying the ride, the weather and having my wife with me.

    :) :D

  19. HAD A PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND HERE IN OKIE LAND! It hit about 70 degrees here this weekend so I spent it in the no heat shop. I solved my rear end set up problem these last two days! A real "eureka" moment! Running a late 40's banjo and radius rods on our roadster project. These bones, of course, bolt to the backing plates and we mounted the front ends on a crossmember. And sure enough, the rods kissed the bottome of the frame when we put the body back on! OOPS! Fiddled around with this for weeks off and on between cold spells. Got a new (old) set of rods - had to straighten one of them out. Looked like someone ran the things up over a curb? Saw the recent Street Rodder article about the swell design the Rolling Bones guys put togeather with these things. A "ladder bar" thing made from the bones and a second bar along the top that attaches to the axle with a clevis. They mount these to the axle inboard of the backing plates on a fabbed bracket. OK here we go! I made two brackets and welded them inboard about 6" from the backing plates. The forward end got a heim joint and attaches to my******* crossmember. Now, on to the next problem! Will try to post some pics......

Basicly got my rebuild to the roller stage. Not sure about the radius rod alignment, but that will be fixed tomorrow if there's a problem.

Buttoned everything up on my trans/rear axle swap, only to find I've got interference on the clutch/pressure plate - damn !!!. Spent the balance of the weekend ripping everything apart to start over.

With the old one there was maybe a 50% chance of a successful flush, this one works every time. You never know how much you take a toilet for granted until you have to fill one up with a garden hose every time to avoid the tank leaking onto the floor. So good.

Got a bunch of truck parts sold off is all. Was going to clean the shop a bit, since it was 70 degrees out today, but things happen and that was one thing that did not.

  29. Nice car i worked on cutting out rusted metal at the back of my car and welding in new, also began taking apart the 318 that i bought . Rick.

  30. I put some bracing inside the structure behind the side glass in my 29 Tudor. Started making provisions to attach the garnish moldings to the same area.
I finally popped three holes in the bottom of my new hand fabbed air cleaner for the air to get TO the carbs. I still need to weld the risers to the bottom of the air cleaner base. I don't enjoy welding aluminum.
More of the car is now coated with POR15, and have some more parts in the waiting for their dose.
The weather was warm for this time of year, so I took advantage.
