I wonder what he would say to a bunch of us dropping in on him one day. He's listed in the phone book ya know.....lol.

Damn that was bad ass. That car should go to a museum. Is there another car thats had that many pioneers work on it before?

I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Monster Garage again after tonights episode. They all are going to suck, nothing will ever be able to top this one. There is nothing better than watching guys like that do what they do best and see it turn out as sweet at that '54. I have some new heros to look up to now.

goose bumps and tears all in one episode.this episode should be IMAXed...this one should be shown once a week for the next 1000 years.... [IMG]

  15. WELLLL.......I watched the WHOLE thing.I WAS actually looking forward to being let down.........BUT
I just want to say that the episode tonight was the Best one I think they[DISC] could ever make.
Jesse was full of HUMILITY- and RESPECT for these LEGENDS of our hobby/lifestyle.The way these fellows performed their tasks was something to see!I cannot say enough about the way theses guys went about the task at hand....I learned some things here [I thought] I knew!
The end result was really cool looking and I normally dont like evry car that is sectioned.
Again-this is what plan every episode of Monster Garage should have had in place from the get go.....Was glad to see they ditched pencil king-THOM TAYLORs idea to pie slant the hood! [IMG]............I AM THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED!

What impressed me more than anything was how 60 to damn near 80 year-old men were kicking ass and getting the job done like they were 18 again. Damn.........

I sure learned a hell of a lot!!! How sweet it is to make something beautiful instead of something Goofy. That was fun!

It hasn't hit the West Coast yet, but I have been looking forward to this one for sure. Can't you buy DVD copies direct from the network of these shows? Like 25.00 a copy? Good investment....

You can buy them at the Discovery Channel store thingy in malls. I know either North County Fair or the Carlsbad mall has one. (Sorry I can't remember which, I go to both regularly)

"Best Episode, EVER" -Comic Book Guy

Bill Hines and Gene Winfield are officially my heroes. According to the show, Bill is 83 and still works on cars for 18+ hours per day. Gene just made EVERYTHING look so easy. I swear he can hammer like John Henry!

Met Bill Hines at the KKOA event in Lexington,KY a few years ago ('99 maybe?).He was in the Bat,and had a younger guy driving him around the country. The guy driving told me he had all his tools with him,and would travel to different guys shops to do lead work.Bill signed some stuff for my son,who was then 13 and very impressed.I was very impressed, too.I'm in total awe of these guys, and am glad that,in some circles anyway, they are getting the respect they deserve. Just sorry the show wasn't longer, guess the average viewer still has no idea of the work that goes into building a car like that.Tomorrow, some asshole will ask me why it's taking years to do my stuff, instead of 7 days... [IMG] That was by far THE coolest episode of Monster Garage EVER!!!!!!!! I'm still pretty young, and am still trying to learn how to do all of this stuff.I have read about these masters of the hobby, and seen pictures of what they have done, but what they did to that car in so little time is nothing short of amazing. I would love to see Boyd try to do this sort of thing. An absolutely amazing show that I hope to see more of in the future. [IMG]

Damn good show...glad to see none of the staged bs... and glad to see JJ showing proper respect for the elders of the hobby...they can do more in a week than I can do in a year!
