HI TO ALL. Briefly as I can - Have '41 Ford running boards that had new covers improperly glued on. Light-to-moderate rust developed. Blasted & powder coated boards, but having one heck of a time getting the rust/glue off the covers. CAN ANYONE TELL ME A GOOD WAY TO GET RUST & GLUE RESIDUE OFF RUBBER?? Could this be safely bead blasted off? THANKS FOR THE HELP!

A co**** sanding disk will work. Like a 36 grit roloc.

Maybe some laquer thinner or other solvent, just depends on the glue.

Might, it depends on the glue. If it's completely hard it might blast off if it's soft or rubbery most likely won't or will take forever and use a ton of blast media.

Carb cleaner will do the glue - window cleaner and a stainless toothbrush will do the rust

Acetone will cut most adhesives quite well
