My dear friend Inkorekt Sparkle asked me a while ago for some progress pictures on my 36' Dodge pickup "Stinkfoot"....and for him I'd give the world......I finally got around to trying to finish my floors......My good friends at PMA Motorsports helped me along the way and overall Im happy the way the floor pans came out as this is the first set Ive ever attempted to construct...... I've had the substructure to the floor done for quite a while.... Next I cut the panels out, and layed out the pattern for the bead and had Mr. PMA roll it for me..... Test fit.... The front corners..... I tried to accomplish a decent floor while keeping as much foot room as I can. Im running a 440 and the 727 trans seemed to take up a lot of space....The main floor panel has a 1/2" flange on the inside where the tunnel will fit to. I also drilled a million holes to spot weld to the floor structure.... Hopefully we can get the floor all wrapped up this week and move on to fitting my seat....
OK stupid beginner question. Did you notice any shrinkage from side to side after you rolled the beads in there? That thing is going to be an absolute monster with a 440. Johny Sparkles are awesome!
Floor looks great, really nice. Just so ya know, that shifter might need to be moved up or braced a little in the back. Its gona shake all over the place and get loose. Just tryin to help.
Thanks. The shifter will get a piece added to the bottom after the tunnel is made as right now it is super flimsy. All it has for up and down movement is a small set screw...its on my list of things to change.
Did you bend those driveshaft loops yourself, have them bent or buy them that way? I don't think I'd be able to get them all exactly the same if I tried hand bending them. Does anyone sell these things? Thanks for the nice pics, as I'm just starting mine with 1"X1" stock. It helps.
I know that suicidedoors.com sells some driveshaft tunnels, but if you hand bent them over a round object of the size you desire they should come out pretty close to the same.
I just bent them over some round tubing. I think it was like 5-6" in diameter. You can tweak it some too after you bend it so it fits right.
