    I don't know what you are seeing because the hex screws into the top section of the radiator. The hex is up and the open end points down toward the ground. I am confused on what you see. Maybe you are talking about something different. The open end is also where you connect your overflow line to with a barb fitting for the overflow hose.

    BJR are you talking about expansion tank. I am so not sure of what you are looking at.

    I am talking about the 2nd picture of post 15, shows the Allen hex pointing down. The 4th picture of post 15 says that the radiator side of the fitting or inlet side can be identified as the end with Allen hex fitting. That's why I think the coolant relief valve is in backwards.

    I think that Allen screw is just plugging that hole if no valve is installed but I see what BJR is referring to. The allen head on the br*** poppet should screw into the radiator. In other words you shouldn’t be able to see the allen screw when installed properly.
