I've been prepping to store my cars over winter for almost 50 years by driving them into the garage and shutting them off. Even todays gas with ethanol doesn't go "stale" in that amount of time. I can tell that you can't leave gas in a tank, like I did my T'bird, for 10 years without serious consequences. At least not if the tank has been "sealed" with goop. What a horrible mess that was.

Thanks! I still have to empty the fuel from my little generator (used when we have our backyard camping and drinking expeditions) and the power washer. I don't drain the hose, I just bring the hose reel in the garage, which doesn't get below freezing simply from heat loss through the house walls.
    Have a good winter!

I've got, I think, a dozen vehicles with batteries. Replacing them every spring is not a financially sound option. ;) You're right though, batteries don't seem to last like they used to. That may be in part to looking at the past through those rose-colored gl***es...

I closed the crank out windshield and cowl vent on my '39 p/u. But still haven't installed the driver's window. But I do park Rusty inside when it rains.

Same here. I park them in storage and disconnect the battery.
