Oooh I like! Does the air cleaner fit on the later larger throat carburetors?

  2. With a newer base it does

  3. Well the belair project got sidelined due to health issues and parts availability on my end. Now the vette project is off the rails due health issues with the painter AND his family. Be safe out there....

  6. Thanks for the thoughts guys. Just to clarify, i’m ok just back to working overtime and waiting for parts, it’s my buddies i’m concerned about, one is about over it, the other is having more issues. Obviously the cars are loooow priority.

  7. OK I'm bored at work and I have one new picture. My painter Patrick is sick but made it out to the shop and sent me a pic with hood on the vette, I love it.

GREAT color choice :) Are you going to have different color coves?

In the 70's I spent many a Sunday at Thunder Valley in Marion SD and saw "Thunderation" all the time. Rapp Chevrolet owned the dragstrip then, and I always went with a buddy of the Rapp group. We got in free, and hung out in the concession stand quite a bit, drinking the beer that was confiscated at the gate. There were also some hotties working the concessions, so that was bonus viewing for a 17 year old kid.

That's some interesting steering linkage, might generate some ideas for builders that have steering interference issues with headers, etc.

That color looks nearly identical if not the exact same to one I shot on something this past Saturday... Beautiful color that was also not cheap. Looks like pearl in it?

  21. Sounds like a great time! I really like the looks of that car.
That linkage is a bit odd, i would imagine it could be adapted to another car if you could find the parts

  22. Yes lots of pearl! It’s cheaper than the first color we found:rolleyes:

That was about the same as what the guy that mixed the paint for me mentioned when I picked it up Saturday. "That color has tons of pearl in it...no wonder it is so expensive." Good thing I only needed a half pint. Should look great on your vette.

My '56 is about that color. I think they called it some kind of red...

I'll do a thread on it pretty soon, almost ready to play with it after a year of ownership.

Scotty has picked out a red exactly like I wanted to paint my C2 Vette years ago, I even jambed it then chickened out figuring I'd never get it right, and painted it single stage black. And I think he's right, not sure two tone coves with that metallic would work. That is metallic isn't it?
