What's the best way to get a****le in nebraska? I've tried calling my local DMV, but they're adamant that I need a****le, even though the car is a 1929. I was looking at getting a bonded****le, but I'm afraid of getting the car taken from me? I'm at a loss here of what to do. I do have the VIN/Serial Number, and a bill of sale. The guy's dad used the engine in his hudson back in the day, just doesn't have a****le for it anymore. I know the guy so not just some craigslist guy telling me a bs story. But idk if he got the car with a****le or not, or the back story of how he came across the car, whether he bought it new, used, or what. I have everything for the car minus the hood, shroud, front and rear bumpers, and engine, but I have different axles under it atm, and soon an engine. Thanks!
If you don't have any****le at all, you'll just have to go with a bonded****le. I've heard of some guys buying a****le for a car similar to theirs and stamping the****le's VIN into the car someplace but it's definetely NOT recommended! If you're found out, you can lose your car and do time in the slammer! Nebraska doesn't screw around.... When in doubt, contact your local DMV and ask for help....and don't B.S. them!
Bonded...had a police officer come by...may be best to sell it and buy one with clean papers....or keep it for parts..either way...you gotta pay...
Why not have your friend apply for a lost****le? It was his car and probably not in the system any more.
This seems the best way, if your friend will go through the DMV hassles. Otherwise bonded****le is the way to go, done that before myself, but make sure to follow your state's rules on the process.
call down to Lincoln & ask to talk to the lady that handles the "historical" plates. she seems to be an expert on stuff. I had a 54 Chev that had an****igned vin from the state of Nebr & she handled switching the****le & getting the historical plate for it.
