If your serious about it, why not? Sounds like Betty has stake in the land the car from Steve is sitting on, and she's probably going to convince steve to sell it, or she'll take care of it herself, one way or another. Alex.
Nothing pisses me off more that some one knocking on my door to ask hey is that thing for sale ? is it a caddilac ? Wut year ? Them you tell them to make an offer and they all of a sudden cant talk . Gee i dont know , i mean i dont want to insult you . I got my '51 Merc 2-door out of South Central too! The guy had it behind a fence covered with a thick green military tarp, you'd never know it was there. He got it years before from the original owner, then started cutting up the ch***is to install hydraulics, then lost interest. I had just happened to be talking to a guy I met about one of my other cars, I mentioned how I had almost given up on finding a nice Merc... he says he has a buddy... needs money... etc, etc. I've owned it now for about 15 years - I practically stole it!
many years ago when I was a lineman, I would climb poles in very bad areas and see cars that no one else ever saw---was in tough areas but managed to buy quite a few this way--was in the 70's bought a bunch of 55-57's and old Harleys but p***ed on many old g***ers and hot rods--probably should go back but I'm sure they are gone-found a 70 (not hamb friendly) SS 375HP 396 Chevelle like this in Vallejo in 88 for $1000!
