Has anyone else had a problem with Shooter at Gibbon's.? He never answers his email. 10 grand for a body you'd think he'd answer his email. Why have a web site if your going to ignore every one? May start looking at another company for a body.

Thought so too. Saw their molds on Ebay long ago.

What year/make body are you looking for?

Kyle is still making some bodies. Haven't seen him in a while. Dwight cleared out one of his buildings for kyle to work in. Ran into one of the guys that was working for them and he said they didn't have alot going on. Didn't know he had a web site. To bad the kid run the old mans business into the ground.

  9. I think Shooter bought some of the Gibbon's molds. Gibbon Fiberglass is no longer in buisness. Kyle Bond former owner of Gibbon Fiberglass is back in business in Gibbon Ne. DBA Bond Raceing.

Holy shit 10 grand? surely that's not right. A mate of mine is making them over here (32 roadster & 3-window)and selling for around $1500 - and the quality is as good as you're likely to find anywhere.......

    Hey Barry-
You got any links to South African body makers? Your Rand is in the shitter lately, BIGTIME. Might be worthwile to import. Whereabouts are you? I've spent a lot of time down your way around Malelane.

Hinky- starting to sound like a damned currency trader ;)

  19. Before you all get excited about importing bodies from half way around the world, better get a quote on ocean freight. It will probably be 3X the price of the body with no guarantee that it will be in one piece when it arrives. Then you have to have it moved from the port to your location.

You can get a glass body off Ebay/Craigslist/other cheaper than you could import one for S.A. -- even at $1,500.

Recently seen B'ville bodies go for $9,500 (without freight)

Anyone used one of the Lone Star Bodies? Was wondering what their finish is like.

  22. When the email don't work, pick up a phone. email can be so fucked up sometimes it's unbelievable. Some ISPs think my ISP is a spam source, so all my emails to people go to spam folders. Other times have gotten error messages for no reason - or have had emails just plain never show up. One time I even had someone send the same email to my Hotmail account and I tried to send it to myself on my regular email about a dozen times - never showed.

Anyways the point is he may not be answering because he may not be getting the messages.

You're right, Rich- you need to take shipping into consideration. But the price of ocean freight is nowhere near what you're thinking. Trust me- living up here, I know this. It'll cost me about as much to ship a body from Long Beach harbor to Alaska as it will to ship it from Australia to Long Beach. I was quoted US$1930 to ship a customs approved (fumigated, etc.) crate weighing 700 pounds from Australia to Long Beach. That might seem high but when you consider the shit value of the currencies we're talking about here (AU, NZ$ and SA Rand), it's worthwile at the moment to look overseas for repop bodies.

I posted some details in a new thread.
Yeah shipping would add some $$$ - my post was more along the lines of what we have over here. Everyone here is always saying how cool it would be to be building cars in the US as everything is so cheap and easy there.......

    Barry

Jason (?) I am down in Cape Town by the way - never been to Malelane - that's Kruger Park area right?.

Does cash the $9,500 worth get into B'villes hands, $500 more or less
gets you a tin one. If it is for real I wouldn't send cash out of country.
S.A. gets a bad rap on scamers!!!

Hi hemicoupe32 I am new to posting but I saw this post and had to reply. I work for Shooter and will show this to him when I get to work today and ask about it. He has worked hard to build nice cars and not advertised since I hauled the first 32 3 window and all 32 sedan & delv molds from SC with him. Then to Neb. for 33-34 coupe and sedan molds. I load cars and bodies and have been to the shows. He says when people see what we build it will sell itself. What we take to the show a person can buy and take home & not a display car. I just got the first 31 Ford cab from a new mold. Its copy of stock original cab with flush fit doors. I started in 2003 and even with the economy still work everyday. Oh yea also saw you want a 33 roll pan. Get the Viper roll pan. Off to bed now TOO much reading.
