That's definitely worthy. When I say worthy I mean old. My daily (and only) is a late model. But I'm trying to find something I can rely on so I can get rid of this complicated, over-computed money pit!
Old cars are more of a money pit than new ones but at least they are steel, simple and easy to work on, and priceless once you become attached. I recently bought a 2005 Explorer 4x4 .... that was before the flood and gas increase.... I've been slapping myself ever since. It's an awesome car and did wonderfully in the snow but man I pay $440 a month and gas is a clincher. Hell at least when I fill up the Dodge with high octane I can smell that shit at the turn of a key. Nothing beats that smell.... except garlic cotton candy
Problem is mine isn't that late of a model. Just old enough for plenty of shit to break, plenty new enough to be impossible to fix on the cheap. And I know how much of a money pit an old car can be. My 47 Roadmaster in high school taught me that lesson (that and the don't-run-a-car-with-no-oil lesson, too). And at least the old ones don't keep depreciating... But that 2005 ain't bad. I used to sell 'em a while back, and I always liked the Explorer. Not easy on the gas though, but I doubt you're dart is either. This whole thing sounds like a effing blast. Pull it off, please!
Oh it will go off.. no pulling needed OSH is paying for everything so it's just a matter of how much cash they are going to give me to spend
OSH used to sponsor Jim "Holy Smokes" Murphy's N/TF car. If he shows up I'll, by God, drive up from LA. I'd like to see what Garlic and Nitro smells like together. chili PS, see if you can book Cats and Jammers, a really great '40 style vocal trio. They always show up in their beautiful '41 Buick. Great players, fine harmonies, real vintage threads and a true education in the BEST of '30s and '40s vocalese, like the Boswell Sisters.
remind us when it is closer. I should beable to make it and maybe bring a couple of guys from the club.
OSH, I had a pair of Osh Kosh jeans once. Believe they were made in Osh Kosh Wisconsin. Hey plan out the car show, and then move it here to the Florida panhandle, "AND I PROMISE I WILL BE THERE".
HAHA wrong OSH! OSH= Orchard Supply Hardware It's only in California but there is talk of expansion once Sears sells us.
Welp it is lookin' like Corporate is going to stiff us pretty hard as far as a budget. However I think the car registration could pay for great prizes and a decent band. Stompy Jones wants too much money. SO, I am going to try to get the Chop Tops and I can DJ for nothing if all else fails. Do you think people would still dig the car show if it was only a Dj spinnin'? or if we had one band for an hour and DJ the rest?
Whats up with the have to ask, Ya! I love Gilroy and the smell of Garlic If I could I would put it in my Cad like rocket fuel, Lets party in Gilroy!!
Hey do we preregister or just show up? I'll bring my model "A" ford or maybe my 1957 harley. By the way if you have any flyers I would put some in my shop (Kool Cat Kustoms) here in san jose, ca. Hey don't you guys have a show in april, the 4th or some thing like that??
I'll come down to this. Let us know when you have details setup. Along with the right group of cars & people, music, food and drink are all it takes to have a good show.
I think it would be easier to "just show up" as opposed to pre-register. YES! I'll stop by sometime this week with some flyers for you for the Bombshells show. It's April 22nd at thee Parkside in SF. Also, when I get all the info for this Gilroy show set I'll swing by again with more flyers. Thanks for opening up the shop for me to promote there
