San Jose is the home town of OSH. They started there. The local OSH has a good supply of taps and dies as well as bolts of every size and grade. One of my favorite stores. They take back anything and just say, "Go get another one".
Hey Rachelle....we can probably make it. I can roust the Keen Kousins to play too if your lookin for other music. -Nick
Right now I am trying to get a DJ to do the event so I don't have to worry about a PA. BUT, I'll keep that in mind.
Prizes!!!!! So, being that I work for the Corporate OSH I took it upon myself to butter up some of the buyers. HEHE The buyer for TOOLS is a real sucker and I got him to give me 7 items over $1000 total (2 of which were over $200/each) to give to the car show participants! I am going to butter up a few more buyers to see if I can get some more out of these guys. When I do I'll post the exact items we will be giving to you guys as prizes. I was talking with the Manager and he said we could either do a raffle for JUST the guys/gals who bring cars or use the prizes as awards and have the managers choose their favorites. Either way you guys are going to score HUGE!
Just to put things in perspective. I was one of the founding members of the Road Zombies, so you know I'm into the cars. Recently Ive been playin in a 7 piece blues band, 2 Guitars, Mississippi Saxophone (That's me), bass, drums, and a 2 man horn section. "Blues Cadillac" is our name. We've been together 3 years and we're gettin tighter all the time. I don't know if we fit your jump blues idea all I know is when we play we get people up dancin'. We play every Friday night 9:30- 1:00 in down town Mountain View at a restaurant called The California Roadhouse Cafe, Castro street and California street. Come check us out and if you like us book us or not! Anyway I will come down for the car show even if you don't book us. Good luck and take care!
Hey Eyebone, how goes it? Bad Luck, I could make a pretty long list of things I purchased at OSH, that are now on my car. Just about every new nut and bolt, the wiring pieces, welding supplies, for example. Looking forward to the show.
Awesome, prizes mke good things even better and sounds like the "sounds" are being put together. Looking forward to making it down!!
Hey Eyebone, Thanks for the support! I think I met you at a car show a while back at a diner in San Jose. I was hanging out with Larry (he's a newer RZ w/ a custom '49 chevy). Regaurding the car show we already booked some djs for the OSH show but hell I'll check you guys out. I'll also go ahead and add it to the Nor Cal Rockabilly events list. See ya in Gilroy!
haha! Right on Yeah my mom's been with OSH for 30 years so I kinda was born into it. I love the damn place. It's like a second home and until Sears bought it the customer service was excellent. Anyway, I went to the store the other day to talk with the manager and he is all amped about the car show. We checked out the parking lot situation and we can block off room for about 100 cars. So far I have 5 vendors---mostly chick shit, and a dj that has a really nice collection of music who is willing to play for 4 hrs!!! The show will be from noon-4pm so I figured as long as you guys are there before 11:15 parking should not be a problem. Today I plan on hittting up some more buyers to raffle off to the car guys/gals. My eyes are batting and I'm going to pout a little haha. Wish me luck!
