Well bare anyway, I was gonna get my Stude cab sandblasted but do to being laid off from work for a couple weeks this month I decided to do it the hard way, I used a D.A. sander with a course paper and my 4 inch disc with one of those flap style disks on it. not done yet, this took about 3 hrs so far. I will still get the firewall, interior and bottom of the floor sandblasted, but at least it is a start, The last pic shows that doing it this way I can see all the low spots with the paint still in them. And there are a bunch of em too.
Hey nice truck, whats is it a 49,50, or 51? All that it needs know is a chop and some WWW's.You should leave it bare metal. I am guessing that a 49 M-5 cab. My dad has a 49 just like it. with a 302 ford in it, that thing is fast as ****. Any way you wouldn't happen to know anyone with the hood script for this beast for sale would ya?
I was told it is a 50. Don't have the hood script, gonna suicide the doors, not sure on a chop yet, Got a volare frontend from my brother and was thinking going small block mopar
Good plan, nice truck, nekkid is good! Small block Mopar would be one of those "different" choices that would make it stand out... I like it. I've run 318's, 320's and 340's off an on for years... I only killed three out of about ten, that ain't bad, and they were all junkyard greaseballs.
I like the smallblock mopar idea too.... They're a strong runner... I think a mild 2 inch chop would be perfect on that cab.
