Thanks, djust. Now I've got to figure out the best way to put the body back on. I think the top and upholstery doubled the weight of the body. I think I'll figure out a way to use the hydraulic lift instead of having six guys pick it up and being rushed.

Got the body back on this morning. The best part is, it takes up less space in the shop now. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1397842491.392600.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1397842519.915600.jpg

    Great looking ride.

What is the air filter from?

I'm not positive what the air cleaner is from. I bought at a swap meet for ten bucks. The guy had it marked as '64 Ford, but when I went to napa and got a filter for it no '64 Ford filters fit.

Well, I've made a lot of progress, but it isn't really anything to post about. Little things like re-installing electrical stuff, fuel system, windshield, parking brake, etc.

I have about eight miles on it now, but have had several hiccups in getting it to run reliably. First I found out the distributor was turning the wrong way, then a bad fuel pressure regulator, and now I have some small bug in the ignition system causing it to break up at about 2800 rpm. I hot wired the coil to the alternator, and it ran fine that way, so it really narrowed down the problem, but I haven't exactly located it yet. I'm also having trouble getting all the air out of the braking system.

It's really been frustrating these last few weeks. The good news is, the car rides great, runs cool, etc. If I can just locate this ignition bug and get the brakes firmed up, we'll be in good shape.

I finally got this thing on the road and running reliably. I pulled my hair out for a while with carburetor headaches and such, but we've got a couple hundred miles on it now and running well.

Great inspiration! My '27 tub is atop '32 rails. (276 Desoto with 2 bbl intake cut out for 4bbl!)

    Amazing, Metalman...just amazing.

Thank you. That big steering wheel is kind of a pain...my knuckles won't fit between it and the winshield when the windshield is closed:D. I like it ,though, so we'll see if it stays on there or not.

I appreciate that. It is sooo much work doing all that blocking,spraying,masking......countless hours. I don't know if I'll go to all the trouble and expense on the next one.

Thanks a lot, Mike. Do you have a build thread for your tub? Sounds cool. I really like those bodies.

Here you go, Purdue. The back window is unzipped and laid down on the seat. It makes it far more pleasant to drive. The air just flows through instead of knocking my head around.

    Wow! Da Tub is Awesome!

    You nailed the stance,
    Leather Interior is incredible!
Gas Pedal - (I ripped my "Ludvig Speed King" out of my Duster at the same time as the Hilborn)
Steering wheel is super nice! (where's it from?) Gauge pods on the column, gun holster?
HEMI (nuff said!) sounds good! AND the headers = work of art!
The top makes it look "Gangster".
It's gotta look awesome going down the road!
    - Big inspiration for my 29!

Haha... Thanks Tommy. My wife and son are both musicians, and that pedal was replaced in an upgrade. It's quite comfortable!

The steering wheel is from an unknown vintage boat, I think. My friend who p***ed away that I inherited the tub from had it hanging in his kitchen as decor. Had to use it, but sadly I may have to replace it with a 15" wheel... It's just too big to drive comfortably.

I made the guage pods as a way to use the original Ford fuel tank and also be able to run 3 3/8" gauges.

Yes, that's a holster for my Smith&Wesson .38 . Here in Ohio, concealed carry license holders can carry openly and visibly in their vehicle. It's more comfortable than having it on me in the tight cabin with a p***enger.

The headers are tri Y design, based on the firing order. Good for low end torque.

I can't wait to see yours finished!

    -Jim
