You said 2 cents, here it is :D
You have a deuce, you already have the ultimate hot rod and don't really need another project.
Unless it was a deuce 5 window or roadster that would match the sedan :)

A sleeper with a 304, 360 or 401 AMC would be my choice. Have to Agee with Finn, gassers have run their course. In fact, I'm seeing a real trend back to the un chopped, sleeper days. Can't give away a mustang II set up nowadays. Best of luck with the ride.

Looking at the side view, I'm thinking that "bent-looking" roofline might actually be improved by putting the nose in the air. But turning this car into a gasser is an idea you really need to be in love with in order to pull off, and the fact that you're asking for opinions suggests this isn't the case.

You'd probably get more use and enjoyment out of a sleeper. And it would be easier to sell when the time comes.

If that's a flathead it means that you have a base model...the upper models had an OHV version of the 195. I have little to no turbo knowledge, but it seems to me that a unique power option would be a turbocharged OHV version of the 195

Also, if you are inclined to stick with a 195 6cyl, there were 2bbl OHV and aluminum block OHV variations of that engine in some of the Rambler Classics of the early 60s

Your right there. Just another thing to tinker with.

  8. I bought one of those little "sneaky pete" NOS systems for mine...and yeah, it had a flathead.
Tuck and I ran 'em off and I found out the 196 OHV with an automatic was actually faster than my flathead with 3 speed stick and hidden nitrous! hambdrags.jpg

Rocky are you still running the flatty? I got mine home yesterday, unloaded it off the trailer and cleaned it out a bit with the help of my son. We poured some gas down the carb and it fired right away although the carb is almost stuck shut. I will have to do a carb rebuild for sure.
