Just an idea, maybe pick someone who post a Intro in the FNG section during the month of december, that gets your attention. Hooking up someone who is new would kind of show them what 99% of us are about.

If it is about people who have given back to the HAMB, obviously my vote would goto Doc.

i nominate truckntom73 cause he has been more than patient and understanding during my difficult time and i owe him $30 bucks so i think he deserves it.

  3. Plenty of deserving guys and gals to choose from, but I'm gonna echo Bugman and second Max Gearhead. Jim has one of the best positive life at***udes you'll ever see in a person, and has done me (and a lot of other HAMBers) a few undeserved good turns. If anybody deserves a share of good Karma, it's him.

OK, I'm gonna pic a few guys, when they post I look forword to seeing what they have to say

"NADS" 'cause he's a funny guy working with nothing and making something out of it........

"Ponchobilly" 'cause he works with me in exchange for welding le***ons, goes to the HAMB drags every year, Americruses etc, all in his '57 Poncho despite the road trip brake downs He looks forword to doing it again and again, He just Loves & appreciates old cars in general......

"Plowboy" Just 'Cause im blown away at his angle of attack and fresh perspective. I have built alot of stuff out of trash that has been in alot of magazines but Plowboys stuff freaking inspires me to go build something.....

"Paul" -AKA 60's style- Another guy whos work is the cats pajamas, clean simple and built in the garage behind his house, Love his tech posts...

Thats just off the top of my head, just wanted to add my 2cents

  5. First off let me say.... very cl***y move by InDaSHOP.........I'd sincerely like to put fourth Tredboy and Denise (Hotrodladycruiser) for this honour.

Tred has always been a great HAMBer and has helped me plus other HAMBers over the years with his support and open friendship many times even when life was throwing curveballs at him.

Then there's Denise........what is there to be said that hasn't been said many times before!! She has alway been there for the HAMB, the members and non members!! I can only say she has been very helpful to me personally many times over!! :)

I'm proud to call them my friends and the HAMB is a better place with them!!

    Thanks, F.E.

    I nominate Bobert and WildWilly68.

I've known Bobert for almost 10 years now. He's an ex-boat and VW racer, a motorcycle fanatic, and a hot rodder from way back. When I bought my first project, Bobert was right there explaining how everything worked and what to look out for. He later sent me pictures of himself and his wife, who is just as cool as he is, standing in front of HIS old car (same vehicle family as mine) shortly after their wedding in 1960. After putting it all on hold to raise a family and take care of a recent run of really tough luck, he's finally back in the game with the Olds coupe he'd dreamed of way back when. There are a lot of guys with higher post counts, building "cooler," flashier, more cutting edge cars, but Bobert has always given me rock solid, practical answers to all my questions.

WildWilly68 is one of the first HAMBers I ever met, and is just another regular joe plugging away at his projects. He's the only HAMBer to have seen the inside of my garage. He ran the brake lines on my '51, gave me a replacement turn signal switch, and refuses to take his vacuum gauge back. I think of him almost every time my car comes to a stop or I pull in for a tune up. Maybe not much in the grand scheme of things, but I'd like to do something in return. Oh, and as an added bonus, Bobert bought his coupe from wildwilly's dad.

Honorable mention goes to squirrel (again) and plowboy. I can't tell you how many questions squirrel has answered or how many times he has (very politely) set me straight. And plowboy...hell, I met Fay Butler in Aaron's garage! I've learned a few things out there.

I got another vote for Tred. One hell of a guy. Not willing to sit back and just talk **** about whats going on in any given area, he has the balls and desire to get up and change it! Good example for the rest of us.He is doing some major things right now for the traditional rod crowd, especially here in vegas.
    Thanks Tred.

I'll put in a third for zach... (suhrsc) becuase I reall feel he embodies the traditional spirit this message board is all about... why, I can't count how many times I have stoped down in his garage and talked to him about the car he's workin on... he will always stop what he's doing to talk shop with me and how many times has he said... "I could do this, it would be easy, but they didn't do it like that was back when" He has loads of pictures and has even contacted aging guys who were there when they first ran on Muroc to see how things were done, he doesn't take a popular magazine's word, or indulges in the latest fad... he goes out and looks for himself, and what he finds guides his work, and he's never afraid to share his info and findings to boot! .. and seeing zach grow in the hobby from his bike building days to the car building ones now, and watching him teach himself stuff it takes others years to learn, it's quite inspiring...

I'd like to add my support to Bruce Lancaster - impossible to find anyone else so willing to share his encyclopeadic knowledge of all things early Ford & flathead. From the obscure to the common, his treasure trove library and sharp dry wit keep it informative & amusing - I still laugh whenever I see anyone ask about the '49-53 distributor because I know the US Navy Flotation test will pop up! ;D

Max Gearhead for sure. Helluva nice guy

  24. I vote for g***er55. A young and very talented guy, who's not afraid to try anything. He'll do body work, paint, fabricate, or ***emble an engine. He'll alter a wheelbase, install a straight axle, or whatever. All in his backyard (no garage) with the simplest of tools. And when he's done, it WORKS! NOTHING scares him. What scares ME, is how good he'll be before he's even 30 years old. Frightening

I nominate any HAMBer ( I think there are several on here) that is in IRAQ serving his country. Giving us the best present they can give Protecting our Freedom.

  27. I'd like to nominate Zeke also, and add Flathead Youngin to the list.
This awesome young man drove two hours to bail my **** out of trouble when I was broke down in Ohio back in September and then wouldn't even take Dinner or Gas money.

    I'd nominate Deuce Roadster.

Always willing to help, never knocking anyone's ride or choice of ride, builds/drives/defends his choice with p***ion, appreciates life, friendship, & what the HAMB stands for.

    A good friend for sure.

I'll second that nomination for Deuce Roadster,,,,,I can't count how many times he has drove many miles outta his way to help me and several other Hambers with hauling or helping and NEVER ask for ANYTHING in return!

He is a stand up guy and Does love his brand of car but,,,,NEVER puts down anybody for their choice,,,

Not that there are not many others that would probably be just as cool,,,

I'm happy to call him my friend! HRP

  30. Yep... put me down for one MAX GEARHEAD with a side order of RATTY... Both are the kind of guys I don't mind calling my friend... or mate, or bloke... one of those...
