Well, after three times out (Bowling Green, MOKAN and the HRR at Armore), I gave her a good check over to be sure she is ready for Bakersfield and the CHHR. Afterall, she is old and I have had her on as much as 82% nitro plus the shoe, Gretchen, has taken her down the track a couple of times. Checked all the mains, rods cylinder walls, valves, compression check, etc. Had to change out two rod bearings and one main. All three had very small grooves in them, not from wear or stress, but more likely from grit/dirt or something left in her at initial build. The crank was perfect however and there was no stress related issues at all. Bakersfield, here she comes.... Hope to see many HAMB Bones there
Best of luck and a safe journey. I'm still recovering from H.A.M.B.drags. Wish I could be there. jerry
G-day from down under (Brisbane, AUS). Will be here until the 27th of Sep. Then home to Gretchens wedding, then it's off the Bakersfield. The car is all ready and packed and ready for its long tow.
