Glad to have found this site. I am coming a little late in life to hot rod/custom cars always loved cars and have been painting cars as a hobby since 1992 but never really owned one or had the time to build one for myself. Finally got the chance and my 14 year old son and I are working on building a complete custom hot rod out of a 1951 Nash Ambassador Airflyte. We want to style it after the old led sleds and have a couple of years to get it done. I am sure I will be searching the message boards and soliciting advice along the way. I am fair mechanic but not great, a pretty good fabricator and welder, and a better than average body guy so trying to minimize my weaknesses and emphasis my strengths plus want to get my son fully vested in the hot rod lifestyle. I have added some pics of the progress so far and what it looked like when we started. I gotta say probably picked the toughest car to start with an old unibody Nash but we will make it work one way or another.

Hi & welcome. This could turn out real well the way you have it started. What part of the country are you located. I will watch for a build thread on the hokey ass message board.
