Searched around and couldn't find an answer for this. Had a couple glass-related questions.

My 52 Styleline has its driver side window missing. I've never gotten a straight answer, but I'm lead to believe that the side glass for my car is the same for both sides, front and back. If this is so, could I possibly use the front passenger side glass out of my scrap Styleline to replace the front driver side glass?

Also, what's the yellow bubbling on the glass? I've been told that the glass is separating and that there's no fixing this.

they should inter change sise to side. i would take the used one and have a glass shop make a new just like it. even 2 and change both. cheap than you think , and why take the time to put old glass in.

Yes they are flat glass and are the same. The bubbling is the glass separating from the laminated plastic, no it can't be fixed.

If you take the glass out and hand it to the glass shop I would think it would be $25-$35 for a new one. You will be glad you did.

Glass shop should be able to cut you one, might be a little more then $35 however, I was charged $75 for a rear window for a F-1. You will also need the metal channel , along with the fabric/cork/tar strip (forget what its called) that holds the glass to the metal.

Depending on your skills, you might be able to cut the laminate yourself, it takes some skill but its pretty straightforward.

If you swap a passenger side glass into a driver's side door, you'll have to take the channel off the bottom and put a driver's side channel onto the glass. The glass is the same, though.

Thanks guys. I was gonna pull said window out and use it temporarily. It'll be a good learning process, incase I happen to break it while installing (hopefully not). Gonna pick up a new set of glass/have some cut as soon as I get new seals.

We used to take the windshields out of buses and trucks in the junkyard and cut them down. Easier to get new glass from the glass shop.
