I have a 55 Customline, that needs front gl***. The shop only has a 55 Fairlane listed.. This is the same gl*** right? I just wanna be sure before I place the order. Thanks very much for the help!

$366.00 CAD for the 2 door sedan gl*** and $516.00 CAD for the hardtop.

Still have no idea if the Fairlane and Customline gl*** is interchangeable.. Anyone?

    Thanks again!

Not all are interchangeable, look on your Vin Tag and under the word body there is a code with 2 numbers and a letter, tell me what it says and I'll check the manual for you.

According to my parts book there are 2 different windshields - one for body styles 64 and 76. Body 64 is a 2 door hardtop or Crown Vic. My '56 Fairlane is a 64C - 2 door Victoria hardtop. Body style 76 is a convertible.

The other windshield fits all other body styles (sedans, wagons, etc.)

I don't have the NAGS #s for the w/shield but the original Ford #s are: For body 64 and 76: B5A-7603100-A (clear) or B (tinted).

Part # for all others is B5A-7003100-E (clear) or F (tinted). A good gl*** shop might be able to cross-ref the Ford # for you. I just bought a new windshield for mine, the local gl*** guy had no trouble getting it.

If you don't have or can't find the VIN tag, post a pic of the car?

If it's a 2 door no-post Customline (hardtop), it's probably body style 64D. If it's a 2 door CENTERPOST Customline (sedan), it's likely a body style 70B. BUT DON'T take my word for it - the body style is stamped on the VIN tag, it should be right under the Serial #. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, mine cost $590 US, included $130 shipping. I could've driven to to St Louis from Lansing MI (what, 450 or so miles?) to pick it up but no time and the gas to go to/from would've cost nearly what they charged so might as well let them take the risk.
