Just had new gl*** cut for a side window and it is about 1/8th to 3/16th's too wide for the window to go up and down properly. It only needs a little more room. Does anyone know if I should try to sand down the edge and if so what kind of sandpaper and sander should I use. I tried 100 grit on the broken window with a hand held palm sander and while it worked, it certainly was slow going. Also, can the gl*** shop cut off this small amount or can I cut it myself. By the way, this is laminated safety gl***.

As long as they don't want more than the window cost in the first place...have the gl*** shop cut it. Otherwise, it will easily end up costing you another window. You can cut laminated gl*** if you are very patient. Score both sides and then get it hot (Like...pour alcohol on it and light it)then snap it. Good luck with whatever you decide.
My first thought would be "Take It Back!" What kind of car are we talking about some have enough adjustment for 1/8 . 3/16 is way to much. do you have the original for a pattern? I see a lot of shops that take an original gl*** and lay it on the new gl*** and mark it with a felt tip pen then instead of cutting inside the line to match the gl***. they will cut on or outside the line and end up way to big. 1/16 is a major difference in gl*** Henry ford had some measurement down to 1/128 of an inch nearly everything else was 1/64 Take it back till they get it right.
