Nope. I will go with gray strip caulk. This stuff is so soft you can rake it off with your finger.

 

On my 41' Sedan delivery, I got a roll of Velcro (different widths are available) with adhesive back and used the soft side. It compresses very well and the self stick holds it in place while you bolt the pieces together.

I purchased mine at the local fabric outlet. And it can also be found online.
