Glasshole's new project..34 Chevy 3window

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by -, Mar 1, 2004.

  1. Gl***hole has had this thing forever and wants to get it done for this spring. I went down last night to help him chop it. We cut 4 1/4" out of the back and 4 3/4" out of the front. The roof is tacked on and ready for him to go crazy with the welder. I'll go down next week and help him get the top of the doors on.

  5. The back end of the body is the only bad part. I guess we'll have to make that area, unless somebody has the back end of a 34 coupe layin around. He's got a lot of wood to replace with metal.
Here's the last pic of the front. Looks wicked!!

Those early Chevies are some cool looking cars. Too bad about all the wood though, otherwise there would be more around.

That Texas Chevy looks like the Hot Rod Mechanix project. Showed how they gave it a "Bonneville" chop. Then never saw it again.

The car in Sodbuster’s Bonneville pictures is the Chevy featured in Hot Rod Mechanix as a two part top chop. Radical chops really bring out the best in these old Chevys. I emailed the owner and author, Dave McNurlen, about two years ago to find out what had happened to it. He responded that he still had it, but had been sidetracked by other projects and lack of time and funds.

That grill looks like a 33 grill to me.

Its a lot flatter the the curved grill of the 34. The front guards bolt on differently on a 33. They have a stone tray like a 32 Ford. By comparison 34 Chev the is like the 34 Ford in the way the guards attach to one another, under the grill shell.

  24. The grill might be a 33. Gl***hole knows which grill it is. He said there was a difference in the 33/34 body too and I forgot what it is.
