I just wanted to post a few photos of Glenn's 32 Brookville roadster project. WE are getting ready to tear the car down and prep it for paint. A pretty straight forward roadster, he liked the idea of the Vic Edelbrock car so that was the the basic inspiration. While we would have love to put a flathead in the car we went with a sbc just to keep the cost and maintenance in check. the car does have full hood sides. The paint scheme will be stock Ford colors black frame and firewall and the washington blue on the body. Drum brakes, Winters banjo rear Pete & Jakes 32 axle. I just thought that this is a HAMB friendly car and just wanted to share the bare metal pics before we stripped it down.
We took the basic turn signal from Speedway and milled out a new housing to mount it and the tac. We wanted something a little different, and it kinda matches our column drop
Rex, another great roadster out of your shop. I like the overall design — keeping the traditional looks but using some more driver friendly parts. Nice work. Did you make the rear crossmember?
We did make the rear crossmember, sometimes it is just a little quicker to make the part than search out and repair a stock one, and since this car is all built with new parts so why not the crossmember as well. I really like the rear end from winters. Here is a little better photo of the turn signal mount
Josh is way better than me at taking photos so we pushed the roadster out side this morning before we started tearing it down. It always helps to give the car a final once over and double check everything and make a to do list as it is going apart.
I spent a few early mornings looking for big wing nut and ran across these they are bicycle axle nuts a 3/8 fine thread. there are a few different styles out there i just like the inset thought it might go well with the column drop and turn signal switch. We had just got a new mill and lathe at the shop so we had to find some fun projects to make and try them out.
Great looking build and craftsmanship! Washington blue looks terrific. Looks like there's some other interesting projects in the background. Would love to see more from your shop.
Getting a little closer with Glenn's car. the upholstery and road testing is next.
