I need some information on the 525 GM steering gears that are commonly used in rods. I have one from a '66 Chevelle that I want to use in my '41 Ford pickup. It is 6 1/4 turns lock to lock which I think will be really slow.
Does anyone know what ratios are available? What cars were these boxes found in?

get a steering quickener from a circle track supplier, it can also give you clearance on the sterring shaft.

....if it worked in a Chevelle ok, why would it be too slow in a 41 truck?
    Arre you goin with a cross-steer set-up?
...manual boxes are usually more turns lock-lock because of no power ***ist.
