How much and where can I get one of those allisons?

 

When my dad went through aircarft engine school in the Army Air Force in 1942 the allison V-12 was the 'finals'. Each guy had to diasassemble and rebuild one. My dad ended up working on C-87 (B-24 minus guns and bomb bays) cargo planes flying the 'Hump' between India and China that had radial engines.

 

Weeks uesd to come into the aircraft museum and offer blank checks for one of our aircraft. The DAP Mk21 Beaufighter, complete aircraft colse to airworthy. That guy has way too much money.
