Technical GM Soup Can Oil Baffle/Separator? Revised, PCV Baffle in Intake Manifold

    That would work perfectly if you packed it with gauze .

    This was a major problem of Lotus and Ford Kent engines where they had a vent hose to a breather bottle [on the RHS of the block so the crank fired oil straight up the vent]

    You could fill the breather bottle by 1 litre [quart] in a 10 lap race.
    The fix was making an oil separator from simple household gauze [steel wool]

    If you don't want to pull the intake, pack some strips into the hose [and see if you can still blow through it in "puffs"]

  2. Thanks for the suggestion and background info. I may try this after I get back from my upcoming trip. In the mean time, I've abandoned the pcv baffle in the intake valley by capping it with plugs and have gone back to my old valve covers that were drilled and baffled for a pcv valve on one cover and the oil fill breather on the other. I would like to re-install the non-drilled Corvette valve covers, but I'll save that for when I get back after the trip.
