I have an early 60's chevy steering column,no ignition switch or gear shift handle. It's a tilt unit and the turn signals won't cancel.I haven't torn it apart until I can find out "how" to take it all apart without screwing something up inside.I found two springs lying at the bottom of the column tilt jacket .How do these springs mount ?
Any ideas of what's involved ,any good manuals on the subject ? I've attached pics of the unit .
    Thanks gents.

The springs are for the tilt function......You shouldn't have to get into that part, to access the t/sig switch and it's mechanism.
