Does a 4-71 gmc blower have a lot of blower whine or is it loud? I really would like a quieter supercharger? any help or advice to puting one on a flathead? also need 30-31 for pickup parts

My brother as one on a 57 Chevy truck with a sbc and a 3 v belt system. More exhaust noise then any thing and it is not bad. I thought most blower noise was caused by the wide, toothed blower drive belts?

I think that the whine actually comes from the belt as it compresses air in the wide pulley ? You could go with a older vintage v-belt pulley set up and that could keep the noise down. Whats wrong with blower whine ? It sounds cool as hell.

I ran a 4-71 on a 355 sbc with a 2 inch dayco syncro cog belt and had very little whine out of it even at 12% overdrive. It ripped!
