As much as I’d like to keep the stomp starter on my 270, I don’t think there’s enough room between the bel housing and firewall. What options exist for starters using a solenoid starter? Thanks

Mini starters are available. Is your original starter 6v or 12v?

You could have a 168 or 139 tooth ring gear. I always used the 139’s. For years I used starters from 53 Chevrolets. They were 6 volt I used on 12. 20 years ago I had a shop build 2 adapters to use the mini. The Hitachi actually came stock with the right gear for the 139 tooth. They turner over the engine fast than the later starters.
Now with a Buffalo engine plate and a 168 tooth flywheel I use the bolt up minis.
