Event Coverage GNRS Another Thread Full Of Pics!

I wasn't sure if I should start a thread with the pics that I took because there must be about ten already floating around. But since it was my first GNRS I thought that I shouldn't be lazy because just because they are the same cars doesn't mean that I didn't shoot them perhaps in a different light. Taking pics was extremely difficult with all the people there and I kept stepping on people's toes so for that I apologize. It was nice meeting everyone that I did on Saturday and I look forward to seeing you all again.

All together it was an incredible day with my mouth dragging on the floor most of the day because all of the rad cars to look at. Thanks to everybody that was there and that entered in the show. I'll never forget it. Also sorry about the security lines in most of the shots. Hard to get around with m***es of people swarming.

 

great pics man! that first 54's color is amazing. what kind of camera are you using?

 

Nikon D80 with a ****ty under rated flash and an incompetent doofus behind it. I should have brought a Tripod and used no flash. I think that would have been better but the pandemonium caused me to take them fast and fool proof. Thanks for the kind words though.

thanks. i like lookin at the backgrounds as much as the subject of the photos. looked like a lot of nice cars showed up.

 

Great photos , clear & bright, it don't get any better, all HAMB worthy too.You caught me behind my roadster & talking to Lanny the Upholsterer by it too, scary , my hideous head on screen .

I saw your pics last and I'll have to say it was like looking at the show the first time. Great clear shots and great detail shots of many of the historic cars. You did a great job and thank you for your efforts!

Great pictures, I didnt see a certain very traditional period mercury that was there. I did see a merc that had 4 bucket seats and a tilt column and a lacerrera stearing wheel in the mix though. Anyway great pictures !!!!

Yep ... shooting with a tripod is probably a better way to go ... but I've found that it has its drawbacks as well ... e.g., carrying the damn thing around all day, the lousy available light (dim and/or reflections from the fluorescent lights), answering all the "What magazine do you shoot for?" questions , etc. ... and there's many situations where a flash is actually the better choice.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that indoor car shows are just a ***** to shoot ... but you and several other HAMBers (Dreadman, KIRK!, DRD57, SoCalCarCulture, Malcolm, Mazooma1, Chuck G., etc.) did an exceptional job of covering the event ... kudos to all of you!
