I totally agree with you John. I am not into the lowriders but found myself staring at them with my buddies pointing out the craftmanship that it took to build them. The show is a place were ALL car guys can get together, mingle and check out some cars that they usually might not be able to in their everyday circles.
I have to agree with John also....no I don't like the bullshit cars that win but yes what a well put together show with all the right people there that is what makes it great. I am pissed that I missed it this year.
John, all I can say is "Right on!" I have been to car events all over this country and even a few in Oz and I must say that the GNRS is the best show I have ever been to - bar none. It had something for every one. How can anyone bitch when a venue like this is filled with every description of vehicle. If you couldn't find something to drool over, you should stay the hell home and watch TV. This show is on my must repeat bucket list.
People cry all the time about paying $17 for Goodguys to see as many as 6200 cars, autocross, special displays, drag racing, etc.!
I know man, I've got one neighbor that bragged to me how he went down to the Nashville GG show, sat OUTSIDE the gate and watched the cars drive in. Swears he saw just as much as I did the 3 days I spent inside. $20 bucks just to look at some old cars? PFFT.
Very well put John....the show was fantastic and any "car guy...gal...person" should just thank all who made it possible! But you know what they say "some people would complain if they were hung with a new rope!".........
Nice words....my wife said I could put this show on my "List to do in life" book. I would love to see this kind of show. Hell I would pay 50 bucks.
