Why doesn't everyone just stop focusing on the one bad post - it's really pretty damn easy? Unless you just like causing more trouble yourself.

I don't think my daughter would be into it – but I want to see it.

  5. I was going to see it no matter what it was about, the pixar movies are just top quality. My little girl isn't into cars ethier, but she doesn't like bugs and she loved "Bug's Life". I'm really looking foward to taking the kids, but if I didn't have kids, I'd probably still go see it. :D

  6. thats right and I will be seeing it with my kids. Is that alright or is it lame to take my kids to a movie??

The drive in here is going to have a double feature - Cars and Over the Hedge. It's gonna be a hella good time, of course I work at a bar so I can't go to the drive in until early next week (not complaining bar money = cool car parts). What really blows is I don't have a radio in the Bel Air and the drive in doesn't have speakers anymmore, you have to tune your radio in. So looks like I'm riding with somebody, hmmm double feature, drive-in, cute girl - a plan emerges :)

I guess I live in Radiator Springs... :)

...only without the mesas. Jive Bomber, that was an inspired movie. There were so many things to catch in that movie. It was so much like many of the towns I have visited in the southwest and the panhandle.

Awesome movie, my children absolutely loved it. So did I and my wife.

    Thank you.

    :D

  15. After reading the 6-8 pages they had on it in AutoWeek I can't wait to see it. Did you know Pixar has a bunch of motorheads working there and they have a big car show there too?

    Nice interview Luke

oh wow that movie was great. i loved lightning's new paintjob and tire/wheel setup and i liked how the paint shined like that. that is awesome for a cartoon to have such detail. and that lowrider guy needs to pick a permanent color! jeesh!! i liked wen they got the town all lit up and they went cruisin. doc hudson was great too. they did a great job of recreating the cars in an animated movie. to do that, you need some great skill and they definately pulled it off!

I was supposed to take the family to go see it today, but the fuel pump decided it needed to go out in the wife's mini-van. Ugh.

Just watched it earlier today....and I was left speechless! This movie is amazing! The details are insane...from the realistic paint and backgrounds....to the amazing audio. Pixar nailed it. Mater and Luigi are hillarious....they definately stole the show! Aand Raymon even makes a Von Dutch reference!!!! Also near the end of the movie during the final race there is a studio car that has supremes and pinner whites!...And as said before...the background is full of detail...there are cars in the landscape...and even an homage to the "cadillac ranch"....If you have any doubts about seeing this movie...DON'T....it is a must see for all ages!!!!

We just got back from watching the movie, and have to say,it was much much more than a "cartoon".The details were amazing, and you could easily mistake parts of it for actual video.Great story line and it was nice to see that they actually did their research concerning the history of the Hudson and Rt 66.I highly recommend taking your family to see this one.The drive-in would be totally awesome if someone recreated it in real life.

I also read AutoWeek's bonanza of info on CARS, and found out some really neat stuff!
John Lasseter has more Hot Wheels in his office than God, the insect sounds in the movie are speeded-up VW motors, every car has the undercarriage modeled correctly even if it doesn't show, ad nauseum. It will be a car lovers dream of details, inside jokes, and automotive references.
Can't wait to see it (probably a couple times), and then buy the DVD when it comes out. A classic out of the box, sure to be near & dear to the hearts of car guys everywhere.

I just got back from watching it. Gotta add that I loved it too! There's no way you can watch it once and catch all the little touches they put in there for car guys. Beautiful movie!

  28. my wife and i just got back from seeing it....i think i will buy the dvd when it comes out and probably watch it several more times to catch all the stuff i missed tonight...there was plenty to see...good story line, it held yer attention, and it was lots of fun. The hudson, tractor tipping was absolutely a riot, the incredible detail of shadows, metalflake paint...the wi-i-i-i-de whites on a racer...(maybe it will catch on with the Nascar boys??) the vivid colors of the neon lights captured perfectly, the desert mountain cliffs and bluffs that were shaped like the noses of late 30s fat fendered cars, and the cadillac finned mountain profiles (ala Cadillac ranch)...and the garages...and the line up of voice-overs from the likes of Paul Newman, Tom Hanks, Larry the Cableguy (stole the show in my opinion), Darryl Waldrip, Richard Petty, the #86 on a car that represented Earnhardt Sr., etc. ..the rusty cars that showed real rust "blisters"...and the great logos of the sponsors...especially the "RUST-EZE". Somebody shoud dupe that off on a t-shirt or bumper sticker! I could go on and on...the audience laffed their asses off (the adults). It is a movie for all ages, but especially us gearheads who can relate to most everything in it. Whoever dreamed this one up ought to win an oscar or two. Go see it!!

Just got home from seeing it at the drive-in. One awesome movie, can't wait till the DVD is out.

  30. And another thing....this show has GOT to give some heads-up business folk some ideas for recreating the drive in theater and the drive in malt shop like whats in this movie into the real thing...its nailed perfectly. one of the best lines in the movie was one from "tow-mater" when he was finally happy about...(topic escapes me at the moment) and he says "yessiree bob, I'm happier 'n tornado in a trailer park". LMFAO!!!
