if you lose one, go to the pound and save another, there's nothing you can do to bring back the one you lost, but there might be another furry buddy on death row who just wants a chance, it's bad enough they wound up there, but you might just make their day, the friend you lost would approve

Same here! The dogs we had/have are rescues.... Same with our cat.. I found him as a kitten freezing his little testies off under my car in a late October morning... Both, the cat and dog get along great! :)

Best thing I've found to do when you lose a "friend" is to get another one at
the pound ASAP. It's good for you and it's good for the critter.

At my age I'm considering getting another one before my 8 year old goes, that way I
won't take it so hard. I know that sounds selfish but as I said.............that way
    it's a "win-win."

Chevy the Corgi! My wife and I LOVE him!! We don't know what we did before we got him. We haven't gotten a pic of him in the car,but he likes to ride as long as he's in your lap.

I used to have a ridin truck buddy. :( But I had to find him a new home, it just wasn't working out with my current living situation.

This was Cinch, a Blue Heeler mix. Introduced him as my anti-cow dog because he was actually afraid of cows, haha.

Here's some pics of him from the Alcazar show in Alabama. I think he was a little tired and ready to go home. :D

Yeah, I told my wife when she is ready, we can get another Greyhound. We have one more Greyhound and a Lab mix but she does Greyhound promotion work and likes to have a couple. She is taking it hard, but one of these days we will find the right one.

there are a LOT of greyhounds waiting for rescue, the way they are treated if they don't win, or after their racing career is over is just as terrible as people fighting dogs, the entire sport ought to be outlawed except as a fun sport for the dogs. when you combine gambling and dogs winning or losing, it gets really ugly to the dogs, ok off my soapbox, they are sweet dogs and deserve a good home, you already know this as you had one, go save one :D

Trixe certainly turned into quite the shop dog. She'll come out to help/watch/tell me to hurry up so she can have a ride

Loves to hang out in the shop with me, until I start using a power tool. At that point she goes apeshit and runs hot laps around the outside of the garage. And she comes back when I'm done.

This is Holley, full blooded Blue Healer (cow dog) that goes everywhere I go. Named her after a carburetor. She is smarter than most humans.

This is my furry little buddy, Donna ... she sure didn't appreciate the car ride to my apartment!

This past weekend, my girlfriend and I went out east, and we took her pudgy little Corgi with us. Her name's Penelope. Good times were had by all. :)
