  1. This is Xena, 4 month old lab rescue dog. She came from a very bad abusive situation with her "breeder". DFW Labrador Rescue Club got her out of the bad situation, along with her three sisters, and found new homes for them. She and Stormy are the "hot rod dogs" in the house now!

Any chance you get to resuce a dog, do it, they are the BEST!

God, that's horrible, I've been through it 3 times. You have more courage than me, I just couldn't stand to be there and see them pass. I felt I left them down by leaving, but I just couldn't be there.

When the time is right save another little life and give it the same great love and home you gave this one. I said I never wanted another pet, but Lucky came into my life unexpectantly and I thank God for that.

those dogs are awesome!! I don't own one but have one that is very attached to me, she's helping a guy who's son is dying of cancer right now, she's the Buddha dog, when he's feeling bad she gets her back rubbed and he feels better, I'm surprised she has any fur left on her back, but she doesn't mind, she's kind of on loan to him at the moment and is helping him through this time. I love your dogs name, that's her favorite thing, she will follow you anywhere for a vienne sausage

I love dogs. I'm 56 years old, have been blessed with good dogs all my life, it's hard to say goodbye to a good friend.

This always brings a tear to my eye, and a smile to my heart. Sorry for your loss.

so how about some more of those great photos with happy dogs riding in a car?

Being I'm a dog collector and rescuer I've got too much experience with the final moments. I think there is about 15 urns on bookcases etc. from the last 15 years . Taking in older and ill dogs means you deal with the loose all too often. And it's never easier as they all have their own personalities . On a happier note here is half my current pack on the bed tonight. L-R Taffy coyote/shepard,Julie Dal, Ginger Visula/pit all girls and Rex GSD the big baby boy just turned 2.

Lost a bunch of them over the years, Blackie my labradane we think his dane heart just gave up, he died in the bathtub his favorite place to lie, he waited until I got home to die, Lucy my little beagle was elderly and got dementia and was scared of things that weren't there, had to hold her while the vet put her down, Baby girl my little long haired Chihuahua we rescued her only had her a couple of weeks, then discovered her jaw was broken, the vet said it kept healing and breaking, it would have been so difficult to fix we elected to have her put down to stop her suffering, that was difficult as she was just a little fluffball who slept on my head, Lady died recently raised her from a puppy, standard manchester terrier, she had issues her entire life such as seizures, died while holding her. We have another elderly dog that is going to kill me if it comes down to it, have had her almost 13 years, but her health is starting to fail

Ha ha, everyone I know who has one tells me they are stubborn as hell. Ours is no different, but yup, a great lil dog, and a TON of personality. Makes me laugh every day, and she is 12 pounds of fightin' fury. Check out obeythedachshund.com. Plenty of funny stuff there.

My 5 year old lab' "Nimbus". He is dog after my taste: Lots if muscles, and initiative, and not too much brain.

  29. Here are my three Boxers coming back from the sandbar. They love the water and riding in the cars. I also included a video that has a great dog song (one of my Boxers is seen at the end swimming).
