I hope he realized how important his influence on this hobby was. Bet he was a good friend to you, as you obviously were to him.

His Merc has been my background for months. He's inspired my 17 year old son to try to convert a '41 Chevy into a hard top. He will be missed.

 

Deeply sorry to hear this, another great is gone. We will miss you bud!

 

I've known the name Nick Matranga since I was around 10 years old and reading old hotrod magazines an uncle gave me. I'm 51 now. He and his car were visionary and iconic. My thoughts go to his family and friends.

 

God speed Nick. Iwill remember your Merc but I sure was fond of your '32 3w. I couoldn't stop reading about when it was featured in the magazines. RIP

I can remember when I seen the hardtopped Merc in the magazine, for the first time. It was a high point in my life, that has been with me since. It's ideas like Matrangas coupe, that influences the whole hobby to change direction from it's current path. Thank you Mr. Matranga.

 

RIP Nick. My favorite Merc ever. Set a standard that all other 40's were measured by. His 32 was one nice ride as well. He will be missed. Pat.

 

Matranga.......Mercury...thats all ya gotta say when ya talk customs, and its instantly recognized. What a legacy he leaves us! Prayers for his family, blood and not blood.

he'd touched. In hopes that he has traded in his Merc for a ride with Elijah,
