Goin' to Montgomery, next week.......

I'm probably going to be in Montgomery Alabama next wed, thurs, or friday, to help move some furniture back to Des Moines Iowa. We'll probably have a cargo van, anyone need parts hauled to Iowa? Better yet, anyone want to hook up for a beer or burger?

When I get exact details on when I'll be there I'll give an update. I'm at the mercy of my sister and her ex for the travel plans.

Hey, I'm just about 35 miles out of B'ham, if you can swing it you are welcome to stop by for a visit..I guess that would depend on the route you are taking through Alabama. If you happen to be on US 82 from Tuscaloosa to Montgomery, I'm just a few miles off of it...Hey Rocky, you need anything from Alabama??? Here's your chance....!

We'll probably head up 65 to Nashville, up through Illinois into Iowa. I tried to use mapquest to get an idea of where you are, it was almost helpful
Depending on what time we hit the road and what you schedule looks like, I'd like to try to stop by. If you would, PM me your phone number and I'll make sure its in my cell phone before I head that way.

If you are in the Birmingham area. Stop by "Rocco & Cheaters Speed Shop", it will be well worth the time. Make sure that you have at least an hour or two just to marvel at all the stuff that is in there and still on the shelves since the early 50's.

Ok, I'm a 'tard. I was just informed that I'm going to Birmingham, not Montgomery. I still plan to hook up with Kustm52 if possible and check out Rocco & Cheaters Speed Shop. I'll be sure to take the digital camera, I'm sure to see some great stuff.

 

If you stop by sams place Rocco and Cheaters Call me and I will come by and visit only 100 miles away This speed shop has been in countious operation since 1946 That is 2 years longer than speedy bill. If You are coming up 65 I am 14 miles off I65 will pm my tele nos to you.

 

Hey, depending on the timing, I might be able to get off work on Friday afternoon, and run up to B'ham. That's about one CD away w/ the cruise control on.

Make sure that you call ahead. First to get directions and also to make sure that they are open. If it is racing time, they put a note on the door "Gone Racing". So it would be advised to call ahead. Also when driving down the street by Rocco & Cheaters, look in at the Recycling Place. Sam said that one day he drove buy and they were getting ready to crush a P38 drop tank and he missed it.

Ok, I just got word this morning. The plan is to fly out of Des Moines early on wednesday the 24th. We'll be in Birmingham by early morning and get the truck loaded up.
I'm going to call the speed shop today and see if they're open on wednesday. I hope that works for your schedules.

Slight change of plans, we'll be in B'ham Thursday. Appearantly it was a better deal on plane tickets. Definatelty want to do a shop tour.

Update: I called Rocco and Cheaters, they will be open next thursday, the 25th. The will probably be closed Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th for the big race at Talledaga.

Hopefully we can meet at the Speed shop thursday afternoon.

Ddamn, I'm confused.....I thought you were talking about Thursday, today, the 18th....! I'm good for next week as well...unless I am gone to Indiana...still not sure about that trip. You mean I spent all day yesterday cleaning up the shop for nothing???? Oh well, it needed it...BAD! I only hauled out one 16ft trailer load...! I guess I can go do some "real work" now....!
